Karin & Liz | Engagement photos at Alki Beach

Last week, we met up with Karin and Liz for their engagement session at Alki Beach Park. Sarah and I met them at the Rainbow City Band retreat in May. In planning for the session, they mentioned that they had a chalk drawing of themselves that they wanted to illustrate in some way. Their idea was to jump holding hands in a park, but I suggested creating a “chalk board” on asphalt.

They loved the idea! Liz spent the afternoon cutting out hearts, music notes, flowers, birds, a trumpet & coronet, and stars for the set. They brought a tub of sidewalk chalk and set to create the scene near the Alki Bathhouse.

So great! A little background: To get these shots, I was on a ladder next to Liz on the left. I held my camera out in front of me with a wide-angle lens attached.

Next we went for a short walk on the beach and Karin and Liz told Sarah and I about how they met (at band practice, of course), and their engagement story.

We cut the shoot a little short, skipping the rest of Magic Hour to eat pizza. Yay for new friends!

I am so in love with those chalk board pictures!!!
